Every Project Is Unique

Even though every project is unique and special, every frame package is made up of multiple elements.
Each one helps provide protection to your artwork

FRAME

Seen by most as a decorative element to enhance the artwork, it also protects the paper or canvas from coming in contact with the surface or being damaged at the corners.

GLAZING

Glazing, mostly known as glass or acrylic keeps dirt and grim off of the front of the artwork. If UV glazing is used it can also slow the fading and damage from UV rays.

MAT

One or mats provides more space around the artwork to create more focus on the piece. It also keeps the glazing off the surface for the art to prevent condensation and mold.

MOUNTING BOARD

When hinged to the mat, it creates a stable and sturdy envelope for the artwork rest in-between. Various reversible methods are used to secure the art to the mounting board.

FOAM BACKING

Lightweight, acid-free foam board provide additional support to the frame as well as protect the artwork from possible objects poking through from the back.

DUST COVER

As the name indicated the dust cover prevents dust as well as bugs from finding their way to the inside of the frame package.

How Much Does A Frame Cost$

It depends?

There are multiple variables, options and choices to be able to give a simple answer. Each project is unique. There are some general factors that contribute to costs increasing for a particular project.

These are the 3 key contributors to costs increasing.

1-SIZE

Since a large portion of the cost is materials, the bigger a piece is the more material is needed. For example, wider moulding generally costs more than thinner since there is more wood.

2-PROTECTIVE GLAZING

UV and ant-reflective glass or acrylic for most is an essential element to preserve and enjoy their valued piece. However, the added protection and enhanced visual clarity is not free.

3-SPECIAL DETAILS

There are a number of different elements we can add to make your one of a kind art piece a one of a kind presentation. Double and triple mats, specialty mat finishes, fillets, different mounting techniques and more.
